【摘要】:Thistestmethodisparticularlyusefulfordeterminingthedischargewhenitcannotbemeasureddirectly(suchasduringhighflowconditions)bysometypeofcurrentmetertoobtainvelocitiesandwithsoundingweightstodeterminethecrosssection(refertoTestMethodD3858).Thistestmethodrequiresonlyonehigh-waterelevation,unliketheslope-areatestmethodthatrequiresnumeroushigh-watermarkstodefinethefallinthereach.Itcanbeusedtodetermineastage-dischargerelationwithoutneedingdatafromseveralhigh-waterevents.5.1.1Theuserisencouragedtoverifythetheoreticalstage-dischargerelationwithdirectcurrent-metermeasurementswhenpossible.5.1.2Todeveloparatingcurve,plotstageversusdischargeforseveraldischargesandtheircomputedstagesonaratingcurvetogetherwithdirectcurrent-metermeasurements.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthecomputationofdischargeofwaterinopenchannelsorstreamsusingrepresentativecross-sectionalcharacteristics,thewater-surfaceelevationoftheupstream-mostcrosssection,andcoefficientsofchannelroughnessasinputtogradually-variedflowcomputations.1.2Thistestmethodproducesanindirectmeasurementofthedischargeforoneflowevent,usuallyaspecificflood.Thecomputeddischargemaybeusedtodefineapointonthestage-dischargerelation.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
