【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstheprocedureandacceptancestandardsforstraight-beam,pulse-echo,ultrasonicexaminationofrolledfullykilledcarbonandalloysteelplates,1/2in.[12.5mm]andoverinthickness.Itwasdevelopedtoassuredeliveryofsteelplatesfreeofgrossinternaldiscontinuitiessuchaspipe,ruptures,orlaminationsandistobeusedwhenevertheinquiry,contract,order,orspecificationstatesthattheplatesaretobesubjectedtoultrasonicexamination.1.2IndividualsperformingexaminationsinaccordancewiththisspecificationshallbequalifiedandcertifiedinaccordancewiththerequirementsofthelatesteditionofASNTSNT-TC-1Aoranequivalentacceptedstandard.Anequivalentstandardisonewhichcoversthequalificationandcertificationofultrasonicnondestructiveexaminationcandidatesandwhichisacceptabletothepurchaser.1.3Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents,therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.
